Aaj ka episode shuru hota hai. Abhijit da is on stage, nice change. He starts singing "Jo Bhi Chahoon Main Woh Paaoon...", behind him are 6 contestants (Ishmit, Sumitra, Abhilasha, Vipul, Prantik & ?? (forgot his name)).

Shaan also arrives on stage, today's contestants are Irfan, Mirande, Abhas, Shreeram, Priyani, Ashpreet & Ravi. Only three shall make to Bemisaal Baarah.

First contestant is Mirande, I like her style of singing. She sings "Khatumba Khatumba". Well sung! This song was also sung by Twinkle in C2005 IIRC.

Agla contestant hai Abhas, he was fantastic yesterday..lets see how he does today. Wow, tune sunkar hi pataa chal gayaa ki kaunsa song hai...it is "Hai Duniya Usi Ki (Kashmir Ki Kali)". Bahut bahut feel ke saath gaa rahaa hai, this boy has something special. Fantastic!

Alka - Abhas ne iss song ko itni feeling ke saath gayaa hai, ek do jagah to itna badhiya thaa ki ekdam seene mein lagaa.

Lalit - Itni chhoti si umra mein itna badhiyaa gaata hai.

Agli contestant Priyani hai, I just love her smile. I am eager to listen her, her choice for today is "Beeti Na Bitaai Raina (Abhimaan)". Bahut achha gaa rahi hai, very well sung. Lets see how judges react.

Hmmm, Alka ji ne kuchh kum hi marks diye hain. Others seem to be very impressed with her performance. Shaan asks for their opinions.

Alka - Bahut si galtiyaan thi, sur bhi sahi nahin lag rahe they.

Jatin - Main Saraswati Maa ki kasam khaakar kehta hoon ki, isne bahut achh gayaa hai. Agar main jhooth bol rahaa hoon to music compose naa kar paaoon. Isne professional singer ki tarah gaaya hai.

Alka - Maine yeh gaana bahut baar suna hai, shayad isiliye mujhe yeh kamiyaan nazar aayi. (this wasn't shown in today's episode)

Lalit - Main challenge ke saath kehta hoon ki koi (hint: Alka ) iss gaane ko aisa gaakar suna de. Main bhi bahut ghusa hua hi iss gaane mein.

Alka - Shruti idhar udhar huyi thi... (she seems to be visibly upset at this sudden JL attack)

Jatin - Hum logo ne bhi bahut suna hai iss gaane ko, sirf Alka ji ne hi nahin suna hai. Maine unhe yeh bhi bataa diya hai ki yeh gaana compose kisne kiya hai.

Next contestant is Shreeram, kal thodi problems huyi thi inko...lets hope he does well today. He sings "Aaj mausam badaa beimaan hai (Loafer)". Hmmm, average performance thaa, ek word ko misprounce bhi kiya beech mein.

Now comes Ravi, he is standby contestant from yesterday. Kuchh khaas nahin tha kal. Aaj dekhte hain ki kaisa performance hai uska. He sings "Nazar Na Lag Jaaye (Night in London)". Aaj bhi kuchh khaas nahin hai iski performance. Awaaz mein dum nahin hai.

Aadesh - Lagta hai ki aaj iska din hi achha nahin hai (so it slipped out of his mouth that both episodes are shot on the same day), Mukhda to ekdam waahiyaat tha.

Ravi thanks judges for giving him an opportunity to sing on the stage.

Lalit - Kabhi yeh mat samjho ki tum iss stage ke laayak nahin ho, balki mann mein yeh thaan kar chalo ki yeh stage mera hi hai.

Ab baari hai Ashpreet ki, she has husky voice...doosron se different hai, sur ke maamle mein bhi pakki hai. Kal badaa achha gayaa thaa lekin somehow judges undermarked her. Dekhte hain aaj ki performance. She sings "Justju Jiski Thi (Umrao Jaan?)". Very good performance, mujhe yaad nahin aa rahaa hai ki yeh song kis movie ka hai.

Next contestant is Irfan. Lets see how well he does, he should make it to next round easily. He sings "Ae Zindagi Gale Lagaa Le (Sadma)". Hmmm, he is good but not as good as I had expected. Woh feeling nahin aa rahi hai song mein.

Ab elimination round start hone wala hai, before that Shaan says that he wanted to ask one question to the judges, ki puraane gaane gaane chahiye ki nahin.

Lalit - Puraane gaane to humaare treasure hain. Aap Lata ji ke gaane lihiye aur riaz karke unke jaisa gaane ki koshish keejiye aur seekhiye

Alka - Puraane gaane gaane se inn sabka range pataa chalta hai, jitna utaar chadhaaw puraane gaano mein hai utna aajkal ke gaano mein bahut kum dekhne ko milta hai.

Abhijit - Yeh puraane gaane puraane gaane kya hai? Sangeet kabhi puraana hota hai kya?

Surprise surprise, both Irfan and Ashpreet have same marks. Ab Mirande has to score 8 to reach next round.

Whoa, this is a shocker. All three, Irfan, Ashpreet and Mirande have 82 points each. So Shaan asks judges what to do next. They all decide that they all shall make to Bemisaal Baarah. So does that mean that they'll select only one more from next batch (sounds impossible) as they already have 11 contestants now. Next week is going to be interesting now.

Mujhe to shaq hai phirse tie hone ke peechhe. This is happening too many times...mujhe to fixed lag rahi hai marking. I feel Jatin deliberately undermarked Mirande so that she has identical marks to Irfan and Ashpreet. Hmmm!
