Amul Star Voice of India update (6th July 2007)

So episode starts, Shaan is on stage..the beat starts, it is One Love...dheere dheere saare contestants stage par aate hain. They all join Shaan and sing with him.

Today's contestants are Irfan, Mirande, Abhaas, Neeta, Shreeram, Priyani, Ashpreet & Ravi. Bottom two shall be eliminated.

First contestant is Irfan, she sings "Tere Bina (Guru)". Well sung!

Agli contestant hai Mirande, woh "Shaka Laka Baby (Bombay Dreams)" gaati hai. Pehle maine socha ki kya song gaa rahi hai, lekin dheere dheere mujhe achha lagta gayaa uska song, badaa achha gayaa.

Third contestant is Abhaas, he sings "Sabse Lade Ladeiya Re (Omkara)". Wow, he is impressive, kabhi socha nahin thaa ki yeh song stage par kabhi achha lagega mujhe.

Agli contestant hai Neeta, she sings "Bhaage Re Mann (Chameli)"...mazaa nahin aaya, she is kind of flat today.

Next contestant is Shreeram, he sings "Aaja Nachle (Lakeer)". Starts off well, seems to be enjoying the song...suddenly...kuchh ho gayaa...he seems to have forgotten the lyrics, he is hiding his face, he is kind of shocked. All the judges are trying to console him, Shaan joins too...they all say ki koi baat nahin, jitna bhi gayaa bahut achha gayaa aur usse pataa chal gayaa. But later Lalit adds ki song bhoolne se kuchh points to katenge hi...

Next contestant is Priyani Vani, she sings "Kabhi Neem Neem (Yuva)". Fantastic performance, she is one talented girl...how on earth did they not select her in Indore (I did not see that episode).

Next contestant is Ashpreet..suddenly my TV screen turns blue, lagta hai ki cable waale ke yahaan kuchh problem ho gayi hai. I am stunned , I am becoming restless...soch rahaa hoon ki yahi hona thaa abhi....grrrrrrrr!

Woohoo...thodi der mein VOI is back. Ashpreet is in middle of some song. I manage to recognise the song, it is "Meethi Meethi Baataan Karke (Aap Ki Khaatir)". She is doing well, such songs suit her.

Last contestant is Ravi, he sings "Tumse Yoon Milenge (Ankahee)". Sings well in patches lekin awaaz powerful nahi hai.

Ab results declare karne ka time aa gayaa hai. Sab contestants stage par thoda tension mein khade hain, eagerly waiting for the results.

Shaan results declare karna shuru karte hain...

So Ashpreet is through and Ravi is out, wait Judges are again discussing something.

Finally it is decided that Ravi is be on standby for tomorrow's episode.

So Neeta is out! Shaan asks Neeta to sing something...she sings "Mann Saat Samandar Dol Gayaa (Chameli)...she is very good in that, wish she had sung this song on the stage.

They also show some scenes from tomorrow's episode. Lagta hai ki Alka ka jhadga kal hoga, they show Priyani singing "Beeti Na Bitaayi Raina (Abhimaan)", Alka points out some mistakes in her singing...Jatin aur Lalit, Alka par toot padhte hain ...Alka says ki maine yeh gaana itni baar suna hai, shayad isiliye mujhe kuchh kamiyaan nazar aayi, Lalit counters ki maine bhi sunaa hai aur aaj isne kamaal ka gayaa hai.

Jatin is back to his golden form...Main Saraswati Maa ki kasam khaakar kehta hoon, agar ratti bhar bhi jhooth bol raha hoon to music na compose kar paaoon.

Today's episode was probably the best till now, I personally think that they (esp Alka) underscored Ashpreet and gave too many to Shreeram, as per marks he was better than Mirande...
